About the Foundation
The Pine Forest Foundation was established in response to the pressing need for quality early childhood education for children who lack access to effective learning environments. After successfully founding and managing Pine Forest Pre-Primary School for the past 27 years, the founders recognised a critical gap in educational resources for children from previously disadvantaged backgrounds. Over the years, they funded the education of numerous children and witnessed firsthand the transformative power of early learning.
With this experience, they were inspired to create the Pine Forest Foundation, aiming to extend their reach and support to even more children. The foundation is dedicated to providing financial assistance to pre-primary children, ensuring they can attend reputable pre-schools where all aspects of early childhood development are prioritised.
In Gauteng, the rapid growth of townships and informal settlements has led to increased access to local employment opportunities. However, many children from these areas still struggle to obtain a quality education. The lack of resources, trained educators, and safe learning environments can severely impact their early development, leading to long-term consequences in their educational journeys.
Recognising the critical need for support, initiatives aimed at improving access to quality pre-school education are essential. By ensuring that children from disadvantaged backgrounds can attend reputable pre-schools, we can help break the cycle of poverty and underachievement. Investing in early childhood education not only benefits the individual child but also has a positive ripple effect on families and communities, ultimately contributing to a more equitable society.
We are committed to monitoring each child’s progress throughout the year, focusing on their developmental milestones. Our approach includes identifying necessary interventions to support those who may struggle in certain areas, ensuring every child receives the guidance they need to thrive.
Importantly, our selection process for assistance is individualised and not solely based on a specific criteria. Instead, we assess each child’s potential based on their unique circumstances and the commitment of their parents to foster success in every area of their lives.
